Chantry Flats to Spruce Grove Campground

February 20-21, 2010

Address to entrance gate :  1835 N. Santa Anita Avenue, Arcadia 91006

Meet Saturday 2-20-2010 at 6:30 AM (parking lot fills up quickly) at St Hedwig Parking lot (near lunch tables)

Return Sunday 2-21-2010 approximately 12 noon

Cost : $20.00 includes dinner Saturday, breakfast Sunday, and trail food (Sat/Sun)

Bring a sack lunch for Saturday’s lunch.

Bring Permission form and check Saturday, February 20 ( Permission will available on the website) **we'll let you know when it available

*Troop will provide backing packing tents and water filter

Equipment to bring:

· backpack external or internal frame

· sleeping bag plus stuff sack

· sleeping pad (closed cell or thermarest)

· hiking boots

· 2- pair sock liners

· 1 - pr hiking socks necessary

· 1 - underwear

· hiking pant with zip legs to make short (you travel to and from)

· 2- shirt self-wicking type (one you will travel in)

· hat or hiking hat with brim

· fleece jacket or pullover

· wind/rain jacket that will fit over fleece

· bowl (light weight plastic) plus spork

· 1 cup for drink (make sure it can handle hot chocolate)

· 1 - water bottle plus 1 liter container

· ten essentials - no matches, no trail food

· 1 - ditty bag for personal items toothbrush,chapstick..

Bring $ for souvenirs and canteen at end of hike.

You can rent backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping pads at REI.  Also, send an email to the Troop.  Many of the older scouts have grown and maybe  have packs to loan.  If your not a REI member, you get discounted rate if member. You save $10 on rentals.  REI is located at 7777 Edinger Ave in the Bella Terra shopping center next to Kohls. Attach is an application.
